Young Singaporean go-kart driver Dillan Tan will step up and participate in the senior category of the ROK Cup Singapore 2023.
Only 14-years-old, the student will be competing among drivers who are a lot more experienced than him.
Tan won the Junior Championship in 2022, wrapping up the title with one round remaining.
The ROK Cup Singapore 2023 will be held over five rounds at the Kranji KF1 track beginning this weekend, with the final round to be held in August.
The overall winner of each category will win a ticket to the ROK Finals in Lonato, Italy, where they will compete with the best drivers around the world.
Said the driver, who is also a member of the Legion of Racers Racing team, “I am definitely looking forward to competing in the ROK Cup Singapore and my goal is to win the championship. It won’t be an easy feat since it’s my first year in the Senior category and I’ll be up against a lot of experience drivers. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank MOTUL for their support, and I hope to do them proud!”
Apart from go-karting, Tan is also Singapore’s top sim racer, having various accolades under his belt.
He finished the GT World Challenge Asia Esports Championship at the top of the stack having amassed 169 in total, edging out other regional sim racing luminaries like Andika Rama Maulana and Fadhli Rachmat, winning four of the five rounds in total in the Pro Category.
Tan was also the top ranked Singaporean sim racer in the 2021 edition of the E-Cities Championship, and the 2022 HyperDrive Cities, both organized by LOR.
Said LOR co-founder Melvin Moh, “It is great that Dillan Tan will be competing in karting this year alongside his sim racing. It won’t be easy for him but Team Legion of Racers will do our outmost to provide him with the best support possible so that he will continue to shine on the track.”
