SINGAPORE, 15 October – Team Legion of Racers (LOR) continues to excel in the Toyota GAZOO Racing GT series, with Andika Rama Maulana securing an impressive second place at the Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup Asia 2024, held in Malaysia on 12-13 October. This strong finish earned him a coveted spot at the Toyota GAZOO Racing GT World Championship in Amsterdam to be held on 7 December.
Reflecting on his achievement, Rama said, “This year’s Asia Final was on another level. I already did my best, in practice at home and performance on the competition stage. But it was still not enough to get the top position. Nevertheless, I'm really happy with the P2 in the Championship, and all the efforts I gave in this event were fruitful. Thanks again team Legion of Racers and Toyota for all the opportunities to compete in one of the greatest stages in Asia. Hopefully I'll give my best performance at the Global Finals!”
Representing Indonesia, Rama’s success underscores LOR’s growing prominence in the sim racing world as his team-mate, Moreno Pratama Yudha, also delivered a solid performance, finishing third, highlighting LOR's strength as a competitive team.
“Last year l didn’t qualify for the Asia final, but now I finally made it, and got the podium in P3. I am really happy with the result, but it was still not enough to claim the P1 or P2 spots. I will keep moving into next year, and will be aiming for the victory hopefully. Thank you to Legion of Racers and Toyota for the support,” said Moreno.
Thanks to the positions of both Rama and Moreno, the Indonesian team claimed the Country Championship title, demonstrating their collective skill and positioning themselves as a rising force in global sim racing.
LOR’s performance did not stop there with Luis Moreno and Enzo Ison from the Philippines, and Jayden Liaw from Singapore, finishing 10th, 13th, and 14th,respectively.
Said Liaw, “I had an awesome experience at the TGR GT Cup. The competition was as steep as I've ever come across, with competitors hailing from countries allover Asia. They were all so incredible to race against and I've learnt so much from them. I can't wait for my next opportunity to race against everyone again.”
LOR Co-Founder Melvin Moh said that the performances of LOR’s sim racers at the Asia championships further illustrate that the team is made up of a set of very formidable racers who can excel at the highest stage.
“We are proud of the team and how they continue to hold their own against top sim racers in the region. We are looking forward to Rama’s upcoming trip to Amsterdam for the global finals and we will be rooting for him,” said Moh.
