Although he was thrilled with his achievement, Tan will unfortunately miss the upcoming Asia finals due to other commitments. Meanwhile, Jayden Liaw, another talented LOR racer, finished fifth in the national finals. “It’s my first time participating in a Gran Turismo race and I had so much fun battling with the others. I’m grateful to the team for helping me along my journey and making me a better driver,” said Liaw
“I’m ecstatic to be heading to the Asia Finals. Balancing schoolwork and practice will be challenging, but I’m ready to give it my all. ”The Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup 2024, utilising Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation®, features national finalists competing in three races and results are determined by cumulative points earned across all races.
This year, the Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup Philippines introduced a new format where participants set their fastest times to advance to the sprint races. The LOR team in the Philippines, Luis Moreno and Enzo Ison, excelled by finishing first and second in their national finals held on 18 August.
“I’m happy to have another shot in the Asia Finals in less than a couple of months' time. Based on sport mode rankings I believe the competition will be tougher and I will have to try my best and push harder this year,” said Moreno.
Enzo remarked “This national final was one of the most difficult races in his career because of the competitive grid. I'm excited and nervous at the same time because it is my first time getting the chance to compete for my country abroad. And I hope everything goes well for me, my teammates, and to everyone involved in this event,” In the Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup Indonesia 2024 held on 11 August, team LOR managed to take the top two podium positions with Moreno Pratama Yudha and Andika Rama Maulana finishing in first and second place.
“I’m very happy with the result as we got P1 and P2 from the Indon team. 2023 was tough luckfor me, but I keep moving on and pushing harder. Hopefully we can get the best results for thenext Asia finals," said Moreno.
Giving his input, Andika, also known as Ramstig said this year’s competition was at a higher level than Toyota GAZOO Racing GT Cup Indonesia 2023 as every participant’s pace wastightly matched and the race strategy was complicated for all the races.
“In the end, all the hard work and practice paid off. We got a 1-2 result for the team, simply a great achievement! I’m also very happy that we’ll be representing our nations and our team in the TGR GT Cup Asia Finals. We definitely will push much harder than before to get the best results in Asia!” he added.
