14-year-old Dillan Tan has ended 2023 as arguably Singapore’s top sim racer.
At the Asia Pacific GT E-Motorsport championship held in Hong Kong on 17 December, he finished the competition in fifth place, and was Singapore’s top performer.
But that competition aside, Tan also managed to amass another seven titles in the bag throughout the year.
The list of championship trophies which landed on his personal mantle included the following:
There was more than $15,000 in the total prize pool for all the events and competitions at which he trumped in 2023.
Saidthe student of Beatty Secondary School, “2023 was a great year for mydevelopment as a sim racer.
“But I would not have been able to do it alone, and a huge thanks to the Legion of Racers team and family around me, I was able to win quite a few titles.”
He especially shared how he was over the moon that he finished the recent Asia Pacific GT E-Motorsport championship as Singapore’s top sim racer.
He added, “I was the top Singapore sim racer in fifth place, and for me that was an achievement to be proud ion, given that we came under the Motor Sport Singapore umbrella.
“But again, it has been a team effort, and the progress I have made this year is all down to having a great team around me to work with and to become better in the sport."
Legion of Racers co-founder Melvin Moh said that Dillan has set the bar very high as a young sim racer in the sport, in Singapore.
“He has over the years been consistently winning or is among the top performers,” he said.
“Dillan is by far Singapore's top sim racer at this point and the number of titles he has earned this year is testament to his ability.
“We hope to be able to work with him to help him grow even further, and to help him propel his sim racing career forward."
